Is this lockdown a reality check for humans?

Well, this virus has affected the world in the worst possible way, it has taken lives it can’t be poor than that. With all due respect to the deceased ones, this is for us who are fighting it out and will hopefully win it, this virus through this lockdown has given us one thing that no one had in our normal life and that is ‘Time’. To be honest the first thing I learned in lockdown is the meaning of the word ‘Quarantine’. This quarantine made me realise that me, my family, food and my home are the most important things which I need to value, not expensive cars, hot girlfriends, lavish dinner in 5 star, travelling is my religion etc no. Seriously no. Gratitude to quarantine for changing my 2 mins audio call to my parents to a 30 mins video call, calling up that long lost friend who was once my buddy, answering the call of that relative who always wishes well for me sitting in another corner of the world but perhaps wasn’t able to make a call because of not having the right ‘time’. I loved the way how my landlady called me up not to ask for rent this time but to say ‘raj agar kuch samaan ki jaroorat ho toh mere ghar se le lena'(raj if you need anything take it from downstairs) . Wow man, crazy. I have seen people of India fighting for all the wrong reasons, but this time I saw them all united yes united to defeat their common enemy that is death. I realised celebrating Doctor’s day, Labour’s day, achievements of our police, army, military is more important than Filmfare, Worldcup and those different carpets that people walk in. And the last thing is not to take this life for granted, be grateful to normal things in life first.

Next thing is what happens after all this ends. After quarantine I will start leading my normal life from where it halted but being a little more grateful and human this time, with similar goals to achieve. But yes after this I will always prefer Padman before Ironman, a Harrier ahead of Hector, and a Modi ahead of Putin. Its just you need to appreciate people who stand with nation when it needs them and ofcourse ‘apne toh apne hote hain’.
